Data retention

What happens to drafts, uploads, published guides, exports and recovery copies. Effective 22 October 2026.

Saved content and expired subscriptions

Browser drafts stay in your browser until you clear them or the browser removes them. Saved account guides, source imports, images, published versions and exports remain while needed for the account and content you keep. Subscription expiry changes access without triggering automatic content deletion. The seven-day billing grace is an access rule, not a promise to keep or delete all data after seven days.

Property and account deletion

Revoking a guide link stops new guest access. Deleting a property or account removes access and queues unreferenced private files for background deletion. A short coordination delay and retries protect ongoing file operations; physical deletion is not instantaneous. An object still used by another guide you own remains until that reference is removed. Use the account page or [email protected] for a verified deletion request.

Service and payment records

We keep only records needed for support, security, payment reconciliation, disputes or applicable obligations, and remove information when it is no longer needed for those purposes. Operational logs rotate by size rather than a promised number of days. Stripe and other providers retain their own records under their policies and legal obligations; deleting your Welcome Book Builder account does not delete a provider's legally required transaction records.

Recovery copies

Recovery snapshots may be kept on the hosting server for deployment and incident recovery. They are removed when replaced or no longer needed; there is currently no recurring off-server backup. A verified deletion request also covers unnecessary recovery copies we control. Before restoring an older snapshot, we must reapply verified deletions and revoked access. Keep your own exports: these recovery copies do not protect against the loss of the hosting server and do not come with a guaranteed recovery time.

Copies outside the service

We cannot recall downloaded PDFs, images, printed pages or screenshots. Revocation stops new requests to the service; it does not erase copies already saved elsewhere. Replace outdated printed instructions after publishing an update and retain only the copies you need.
