Before you start

What is a digital welcome book?

A digital welcome book is an online guide to your vacation rental: arrival directions, Wi-Fi, house instructions, local tips and checkout. Guests open it through a link or QR code. You maintain the content and publish updates when details change.

Can I create a welcome book for free?

You can write and preview a browser draft without signing in, or prepare one property draft in an account. An annual plan is required to publish a guest guide and export PDFs. A browser draft does not automatically transfer into an account.

Do guests need an account?

No. Guests can open a published guide using its link. They don’t need to register, pay or install an app.

Can I use my existing house manual?

Yes. Paste notes into a browser draft, or sign in to upload UTF-8 TXT, DOCX or a PDF with selectable text. Review the extracted text before adding it to your draft. Scans, images and the original page layout are not imported.

What happens when I update a guide?

Edits stay in your draft until you publish. Publishing an update keeps the same link; guests see it when they open or refresh the guide. A browser-only draft stays in this browser and cannot be published.

Who can read a shared guide?

Anyone with the link can read and forward it without signing in. Guides are unlisted, so share only the details you want guests to see. Keep door codes, guest records and identity documents out of the guide.

Does a downloaded PDF update too?

No. Export a new PDF after publishing changes, then replace any copies you share or print. Files already downloaded cannot be updated or recalled.

A guest guide you can keep current

A digital welcome book gives guests a place to look up one detail without reading a whole house manual. Put the parking instructions, guest Wi-Fi and departure time in recognizable sections. Use the same guide for your property whether guests book through Airbnb, Vrbo or another channel; sharing a link is a manual step you control.

  • Write short instructions, then add photos that identify an entrance, control or appliance.
  • Publish reviewed changes to the same guest link. Export a new PDF when you need an updated printed copy.
  • Keep booking messages available for arrival, and send door or lockbox codes through your private booking channel.
